I believe that becoming an organ and tissue donor is one of the noblest acts one could perform. And for the roughly 1,500 Ontarians who are waiting for an organ transplant, it could also be a life-saving one. Currently, the City of Barrie ranks 74th overall in the province for donors registered or approximately 57k of our 130k population. We can totally do better! My goal is set to reach for the sky... If we can add 10,000 donors to that list, we will bump up to the 30's ranking. Realistically, 20,000 donors added to the list would put us into a far first! By reaching this goal, at 8 lives saved per donor, we have the potential to save 80,000 human beings across the province. That's incredible. Talk about a long-lasting gift!!
