Saaz O Awaz believes more South Asians should register as organ donors!
Every three days someone dies in Ontario because the life-saving organ transplant they need is not available, yet only 25% of Ontarians have registered their consent to be a donor. It's really surprising, and it's not good enough. Especially for the 1,500 people in our province waiting for organ transplants and the thousands more waiting for tissue transplants.
Saaz O Awaz is partnering with the Council of Agencies Serving South Asians to raise awareness about organ and tissue donation to the South Asian communities in Ontario. In particular, Saaz O Awaz is targeting its Urdu and Punjabi speaking listeners to disseminate information about why it is important for them to register their consent to donate their organs and tissues.
Saaz O Awaz is a radio frequency that airs 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, serving the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding regions to encompass most of Ontario. It covers the largest area of Ontario for the South Asian Community. Saaz O Awaz takes pride in being a community channel, having programs in multiple languages all day long.
