I never imagined that one day I would require a life saving transplant because of an incurable disease called Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). Thanks to a caring organ donor and their loved ones, I was truly blessed to receive a call in 2011 for a lung transplant operation that gave me a second chance at life. This was only possible because of another family's loss of a loved one. I am forever grateful to my donor and family for this very precious gift. I am living proof that Organ and Tissue Donation saves lives. You never know if you might need it. This is one of the many reasons Linda and I decided to join the Toronto Lung Transplant Civitan Club to give back to the world class program at TGH through fund raising events and Organ Donor awareness campaigns.
