Organ donation is an issue that is very near to my heart, and the need to educate the public about organ donation is something I am very passionate about. That is why, from April 13th to May 13th, I am partnering with the Amar Karma Organ Donation Society on a special campaign to highlight the need for organ donors in our community. At booths and stations around the city, members of the community can learn more about Amar Karma and the process of becoming an organ donor. In our riding, only 13% of residents are registered as organ donors. Province wide, there are thousands of individuals waiting for a donation match to come up, and a single donor can save up to 8 lives and enhance up to 75 others. I’m confident that, as always, our community will come together around this cause. The people of Brampton are known for our compassion and care for our fellow citizens.
