I am an organ and tissue donation coordinator. Every day I come in to the hospital, that may be the day I have to talk to a grieving family about organ and tissue donation. I sit in the ICU with this family and ask them if they would like to give the gift of life, and save other people through the gift of organ and tissue donation. Many families say yes right away, knowing that is what their loved one would have wanted. Other families believe that donation is the right thing to do, but they aren't sure because their loved one never had a conversation with them, and had not registered. When someone has registered their wish to donate, it makes my job that much easier to fulfill your wishes. It makes your family's decision easier, because they then know exactly what you would have wanted. Please sign up to be a donor. Talk to your family, and tell them what you would want. Perhaps you could make a difference in up to 8 lives!!!!
