I was on the list to receive a double lung transplant for 22 months, before I finally received my gift of life, I have cried so many tears of gratitude since my release from the hospital. My recovery has been extremely difficult but it's all worth it and I can't thank my donor and their family enough for this selfless gift. My hero lives on within me. Along this journey I’ve learned that unfortunately organ donation is not as vast as it could be. Everyone is a potential donor regardless of age or medical condition. Even individuals with serious illnesses can sometimes be donors.

You were born with the ability to save someone's life, please don't waste it.

The Idea is not to live forever Andy Warhol But maybe to help another live a little longer Donate Life One donor can save 8 lives and transform up to 75 others. Individuals on the transplant waitlist are suffering from organ failure and without the generous gift of life from an organ donor, many will die. Tissue donors save the lives of recovering burn survivors. It's possible you could enhance the lives of others to help restore sight; and then of course in my case you could allow people to breathe again.
